Geo-Coordinate System (GCS)

A geographic coordinate system is an innovation that enables every location on the Earth to be specified by a set of numbers or letters, making distances between them accurately measurable. In the world of telecom, Geo-Coordinate System (GCS) is a powerful tool to locate, identify and calculate the distance between two connectivity points based on the Latitude and Longitude of the two ends. This application is the base for the costing and budgeting estimation for evolving connectivity requirements. Being able to accurately determine distances between connectivity points in a cost-effective manner enables better planning and costing in network management.

GCS Manages and Provides:

  • The information of the distance between two locations/connectivity points
  • Insights on the availability of the ports and connectivity points at those locations
  • Input data for the costing and operational expense
