Ticketing
The Need :
The customer is a leading shuttle service operator in the United States. They already had an existing web application that allows users to book shuttles online. The need was to create a similar application on a kiosk environment and to allow users to print boarding passes at the airport on their arrival or departure.
The Solution :
A .Net based middleware application interfaces with the existing Web services to pull information for airlines arrival/departure and terminal information and provide to flash. The interface allows existing customers and new customers to select their departure and arrival dates, their destinations (from a predefined set of values), and passenger information and book their shuttle requirement. Various shuttle types, costings and other destination details were pulled via existing web services. The kiosk also allows the administrators to remotely monitor the health and printer status.
Technology :
Microsoft .Net, Flash design, Flash Action Scripting, Web services using SOAP/XML, Windows services, "N" layered web application.
