Client:
Our client is an operational consulting firm specializing in offering strategic guidance to the middle market within the food and beverage manufacturing industry. They provide invaluable insights and facilitate sustainable performance enhancements for small to mid-sized food and beverage manufacturers, along with financial sponsors, aiming to unlock shareholder value. The firm boasts a team of seasoned practitioners in food and beverage manufacturing, each possessing specialized expertise across diverse functional domains such as manufacturing, mechanical engineering, continuous improvement, quality assurance, food safety, and finance.
Challenge:
Our task involves comprehending the intricate food and beverage inventory data sourced from multiple companies and devising advanced metrics. These metrics are aimed at offering insights into product usage patterns and inventory status. The client seeks recommendations on how to ingest this data and store it for comprehensive inventory analysis. Additionally, they desire a presentation interface that visually represents these metrics, facilitating in-depth analysis and interpretation.
Our Solution:
To address the client’s requirements, we propose leveraging our capabilities in Data Analysis, Data Engineering & Data Visualization to implement an End-to-End Inventory Control Analytics Platform. Our approach encompasses defining a robust Data Collection Strategy, establishing an efficient Data Storage Solution, and formulating advanced Metrics, such as Time-series analysis, percentage of change, obsolescence tracking, Pareto analysis, aging analysis, and Standard Deviation calculations on usage and inventory data. These metrics will be segmented across time, location, and company variables. Following the data analysis phase, we’ve designed and developed a cloud-based data pipeline to transform raw data files and store them for representation in an interactive dashboard. Lastly, we’ve designed an intuitive dashboard using Power BI, a data visualization tool renowned for its user-friendly interface and robust data connectivity.
Business Outcome:
- By having access to advanced metrics and visual representations through an intuitive dashboard, the client can make more informed decisions. They can identify trends, understand inventory usage patterns, and optimize their strategies for better inventory management.
- The platform’s design to handle diverse data sources and its interactive dashboard can make it adaptable and scalable. This means it can accommodate the client’s evolving needs and scale as their business expands or requirements change.
