While storing, displaying, monitoring a constant stream of messages, we are often faced with a challenge of just not recording these events, but to record it in real-time monitoring and reporting format. And in an age of building software products quickly, a fair bit of balancing act between development and assembling always helps.

A complex architecture with offline and online working modes and multiple syncs that happen, along with real-time messaging presents numerous challenges. A data store that is lightweight, free, scalable, and has reported out of the box was the need for the hour. Time series databases, integrated and embedded user-driven dashboarding tools were the directions in which the solutioning team looked at. Influx db and its associate dashboarding platform Grafana provided the necessary infrastructure around which the team started solutioning. Today it stands the testimony of time to store real-time messages and display embedded dynamic dashboards in our platform.

School meals are an essential part of a child’s life; therefore, for the welfare of the whole community, the government provides meal applications to receive reduced-price school meals for the benefit of students.

Our client had a requirement to create a web application that eases out the pain involved in applying for free and reduced-price school meals. The need was to build a contemporary solution that replaces and enhances an existing decade-old working solution.

Lessons learnt over a long period of usage and what modern technologies have today lead us to iteratively develop an easy to use user interface laying down the foundation for the engineering to take over. Migration to a modern architecture coupled with the interfaces made the application an instant success. User adoption has been seamless, thereby receiving several appreciations. Not to forget the application was delivered before time.

Client

Our client is a primary online software solutions provider for K-12 school districts who represent over 40 states and 12,000 students in the U.S. Our client's software helps the parents and community for easier management of school tasks. They offer modern solutions that are quick and easily implemented.

Challenges

The requirement was to create a web application that manages the complexity of districts from the reduce-to-free meal applications process. Our client wanted to build a user-friendly application that is powerful, flexible, and provides an efficient way to process single or multi-family meal applications.

Although the goals were pretty straightforward, we encountered few challenges like; we had to understand the USDA criterion; as the different APIs were running in the background, it became a challenge for us to improve the web application's work efficiency. The meal processing application and reporting issues became frequent. Furthermore, the application's verification method was carried out; it created undue stress between school administration and end-users. Therefore, for a trouble-free meal application method, Chimera built up an unproblematic solution.

Our Strategy

Our team did a detailed study of the database and the USDA criterions. The team members had conferences with our client to understand the data that they were managing and how to create features that give a better and integrated user experience.

We divided the project into different development phases. Once the phase started, we reported the client with our progress periodically. This project was delivered to the client ahead of schedule.

Our Solution

Our highly-skilled team developed a user-friendly solution with crucial features that entirely cater to the meal application processing system. The end users can check their application status, download individual determination letters, add an unlimited number of users, and many more.

The application process has been integrated with multiple systems from the central district office, individual school sites, and parent's payment portal.

Based on our client's requirements, we integrated USDA guidelines to a centralized application that helps the end-user to apply for free or reduced meals. We have created several standards that support the end-user to appeal without difficulty.

For the End-Users

We have built several features for them to navigate quickly, such as if a user leaves in the midway of applying for meal reduction, he/she can be reverted to the same page. The end-user can view his application status once the appeal has been accepted or rejected and, depending on the condition, the user may download the letter of determination. This is automatically gets reflected in the school's POS with all the necessary criteria.

For the School District

Chimera has built an automated step-by-step application process that can reduce paper applications. This request automatically integrates with another software application that determines the payment information of students. It can also track the appeals and view the statistics of verification.

This application is mobile-friendly, where we have used the in-app browser with responsive screens. Through Angular and Microsoft SQL Server, we built the web-application.

Across the globe, the sales and service personnel faces challenges of creating, optimizing and maintaining their daily tasks. By using a field force platform, it allows the users to capture information on-site and manages the work efficiently, quickly, and accurately. Our recent project was to build a Field Force application that would feed into the reimbursement process.

As the manufacturing company, the customer had already using Office 365 platform and wanted a maintainable solution due to their minimal IT staff. And hence the applications need to be based on their existing tools/platform

The solution we provided is a mobile application which seamlessly works with the SharePoint on the cloud. The application, without human intervention, synced up with SharePoint and provided daily trips to be started. An Uber-like application, it starts to manage the entire trip and post-trip activities of a salesman in this context. So planning trips, executing trips and getting the reimbursements sorted out became seamless.

This project has been an example of applying digital innovation to increase efficiency, minimal risks, improve collaboration and provide real-time transparency to management.

Client

The captive office of one of the leading auto components tools manufacturer in Germany. The subsidiary had exposure to all leading automobile manufacturer with a countrywide spread of sales and service personnel.

Challenge

The challenge was to monitor the sales/service force and seamlessly integrate them into a system that relieves them of the entire reimbursement process in the system.

Our Strategy

The organization was evaluating using Sharepoint as its enterprise-wide tool. We proposed to build to leverage its benefits for their workflow capabilities and quick to market approach. The field force is on the road most of the time, also required to have a mobile application that effortlessly integrates into SharePoint.

Our Solution

An iOS-based mobile app that seamlessly syncs the services schedules from SharePoint was created. The schedules enabled the users to view only “Todays” schedules and click on it to start the trips. The trips automatically synced up with SharePoint with an Uber-like application enabling the salesperson to focus on the tour and calculate the rest of it by itself – including applying organization policies on reimbursement, handling complicated trips across days/cities, and other relevant workflows to approve them.
